  In cars that I've driven with an oil temp. gauge the oil takes about twice
as long as the coolant to reach a stable temperature.  This is assuming that
the coolant thermostat is working and that the motor is not being heavily
loaded.  I would think that those with a water to oil heat exchanger would
narrow that range somewhat.
