Actually I would like to present the following. I bought my R Package because 
I fell in love with it at first *drive*. I was not going to even consider it 
because I too wanted options like Cruise control, electric mirrors, electric 
windows, leather, etc. I wanted something like my '91 BRG. However, the 
salesman convinced me to drive it. Boy, did I learn a thing or two about 
Miatas!! Nobody could have taken that car away from me after that drive. That 
had to be the best handling car and fastest N/A Miata I've ever driven.
Well, I still kinda missed some options. I really like cruise control for 
highway trips, the electric windows are nice and most of all I sure would 
like adjustable, electric rearview mirrors (my BRG didn't have them either 
and I missed them a lot). Anyway, I still dont have any of those options and 
I'm learning to live without them. I did however add a Sebring to my car 
(great system, lots of additional ponies). Now, I have nothing against 
aesthetic improvements so I've added a MOMO Champion wheel. I also got a 
terrific buy on some leather seat covers from R Speed (my excuse was that I 
had a little tear in the right side bolster of the drivers seat). Well, my 
car looks terrific, is *very* fast and still handles like the R package it is 
(read GREAT!). Joseph at R Speed has several pictures of it in the R Speed 
website since my car sports the HDHC as well as several other items they 
market.
In conclusion, I think that the R package and Sport Package '99s are 
fantastic cars. Do not dismiss them until you've tried. They are real 
enthusiast cars.
