| Subject: | Power Antenna question. HELP!!!!!!! |

OK, here's a question that relies on the quick ability of the list to
disseminate information.
Situation: Power antenna mast on a '92 Miata refuses to go down. Turns out
the belt is broken into umpteen gazillion pieces.
Parts: Antenna mast ordered, with belt. *only* antenna mast and belt. Belt
is
attached to the mast.
Current situation: Motor is removed from car. Motor taken apart and all
broken pieces removed. Mast won't come loose from the black and silver
part surrounding it. This is the piece that bolts to the motor. We only have
the mast/belt assembly, which fits *inside* the black/silver mount, which,
again, bolts to the motor.
Question: How the *hell* do we remove the broken mast and belt from the
silver and black part so that we might insert the *new* mast and belt
assembly.
Please cc to this address, as I'm not on the list currently. The quicker the
info the better, as the car is apart right now. We'll do the spark plug
change
while we wait for the answer.
Thanks in advance.
