i was out for a nice, spirited, top-down session this aft, running all the
twisty little roads around victoria and enjoying myself thoroughly.
naturally, of course, i was keeping it in 2nd up until 5-6000 as He intended
on a Sunday afternoon, which still only gets me to about 50-60 (the speed
limit is 50 km/h here with ~10 km/h leeway). anyway...on to my point. i
had not one but 2! people (wearing the blue rinse and the polarizing
wraparounds, btw) yell at me to slow down even though i was only going 50 or
less in both cases. this, by the way, is a regular occurrence. why do people
associate engine noise with
speed? i guess to make that much noise in their damn town car they would
have to be going 150. i've NEVER caused an accident in my life, and i can
stop
faster and turn quicker than almost anything out there. it amazes me that
there is so little understanding of, and tolerance for, proper motoring in
north america. my cousin in england has a catherham and would have been
doing twice the speed (legally) in the same situation. it spoiled my
afternoon because i don't like upsetting people...what to do?
