 My fellow Gappers (and interested others),

 As I promised on the web site, it's now May 1st so the official
Gap '99 logo is now up for all to see. I hope you like it as much
as I do.

 My sincere thanks to Rebecca Zook for her time and trouble to
design a great piece of artwork with nothing to go on but an idea
Julie and I had last year while chatting in our hotel room
Saturday night at the Gap. (Must have been something in the air,
as Mike Martin of RAGS approached me Sunday morning at the lodge
with basically the same logo idea.) Rebecca took that idea and
actually improved on it.

People asked if we could top last year's, and think Rebecca's
interpretation of the idea is the best yet. Thanks, Rebecca! Hope
you and Merv can find your way out to play with us this year.

FWIW, T-shirts this year will be 5-color with the Gap logo on
back, and the "shield" part of the logo in 3-color on the breast.

Paul Williamson has also sent me a sample of a "Gap '99" mouse
pad using the full logo and it looks *great*. If you run into him
in Dallas, bug him about it if you're interested in one.
