The question of whether the steering shaft of the manual cars is any
different (stronger) then the one in PS cars has come up a few times
but I had never seen an answer.
Well, the answer is that they are identical.
Today I changed the steering half shaft on my 93, which is factory PS
car, converted to manual. I replaced the original factory shaft with a
new shaft for a manual steering car. The parts are identical in every
dimension.
Note that apparently they have different part numbers though. The
manual shaft is part# NA01-32-090C (don't have the # for the PS one).
