I used engine paint advertised to withstand 1000 degrees F. Prep consisted
of grinding away non-structural metal, cleaning the whole thing with brake
cleaner, taping off the piston bore, slide pins, pad indexing tabs, and bolt
bosses (better heat transfer without paint). I gave 'em 4 coats, then let
them dry in the sun for a day. They've been on for a few months now and seem
fine.
