I think the "public saftey" issue is only a very MINIMAL part of GM's
thinking behind this new device.  Most prominent in their minds is probably
the advantages of using such device data to defend lawsuits filed against
them by persons injured in their vehicles.

How long before we have little cameras hidden behind the radio faceplate
ala The Truman Show?  :-)
