  If I remember correctly, the first American vehicle to wear a Japanese 
badge was the Mazda version of the Ford Explorer.  I forget the name of the 
thing, but remember that it was built on the same production line as the 
Ford, and was only available as a 2 door model.
  So there y'go -- even Mazda ain't innocent of propagating cell phone 
toting, non-driving, SUV loving rolling chicanes!
