That book refers to the 1990-97 cars. Your engine is different, and you
can't adjust the timing. Sorry - but you're already starting with 140 hp,
where the 1990 cars have 116 :)
You may find that the new thermostat will do nothing but make your heater
less effective. It's an old hotrodding trick from American cars that isn't
actually effective or necessary on a Miata.
