Hey, my old RX-7 would do it all of the time, all on its own.  Drive it up
to 7,000rpm, let off the gas, coast down to about 2,500rpm, then BANG...
Three foot flameswere not a problem.

The rally car (RX-3) does it even more, very impressive on night stages.
