Sure they do - they just don't sell it in North America.  We rented a '99 
Toyota Avensis Estate in Ireland for two weeks in May.  It was about the size 
of the Subaru Legacy GT Wagon we own here in Canada.

Oh yeah, don't forget Subaru - they sell more wagons in North America than any 
other company.  Unfortunately, most of those are the Outback SUV wannabes for 
the poseurs.  Then again, I guess it's better than having the poseurs buy real 
SUVs!

PS to the dudes that claim they need all the extra space in an SUV - have you 
actually sat in the back seat of one of those, then compared it to the back 
seat in a wagon? (Durango, Suburban, and other gross-sized trucks excluded). 
 Ford's Taurus wagon has a better back seat and just as much luggage room as an 
Exploder.  Further, it gets better mileage and is safer in the crash tests too.

Congrats on your move to the A6 Avant - georgeous car.  One of the main factors 
in our selecting a Legacy GT Wagon was that it is available with a performance 
oriented suspension and a manual transmission.  Who says you can't have a 
fun-to-drive family hauler?
