Subject:Help! My miata has a short temper...
Date: Fri, 2 Jul 1999 14:43:57 -0400

Hi everyone,

I seem to have a problem with my '96 PEP Miata. Lately, whenever I take
a hard right turn the 15A fuse labeled "meter" blows out.
This leaves me with no tach, oil idiot gauge, temp. gauge, signal lights
or cruise control. It does not always happen instantaneously. Sometimes
it will keep working until I restart the car after shutting it down.
Sometimes I will replace the fuse and it will work for a little bit and
go out again and some other times it will keep on working for weeks,
even though I try to "force it" to happen again (hard right turn into
office building parking lot).

What gives?!?

I don't have anything connected to the fuse box or accessories, except
for the horn fuse being of a larger amperage due to the air horns, but
this fuse has not given me any problems.

I have also noticed that sometimes my Valentine One resets itself as if
the lighter plug lost power, but the lighter fuse has never blown out.
I don't think this is related to the fuse problem, but I did not want
to leave it out.

Anyone has any suggestions?
I don't have a workshop manual, so if anyone would be so kind as to
fax me the pages that show the wiring diagram for whatever interacts
with the "meter" fuse, please let me know. I appreciate any help.

Thanks.
