I'm talking about using them on suburban streets, of course we
don't really have a deer problem either, not in the city anyway.

I'm guilty of that on many occasions. I don't think of mine so much as fog
lights. I think of them as deer lights.Thanks to the wider beam compared to
the headlights, they really do a great job of lighting up the deer (HUGE
overpopulation here) on the sides of the road. Saved my butt a few times.
I really don't like the idea of a 150lb animal sliding over the windshield
header and onto my face. I've expeienced my own fog lights at night when a
friend was driving the Miata. They were pretty unnoticeable compared to the
headlights.
