I have two 5 1/4's mounted on the rear-deck.  I lost two snaps (where the
boot attaches) in the conversion, but they sound pretty good when the top is
up.  My installer mounted them at the very front of the rear deck.
I don't know if I would do it again though.  If the boot is on, you can't
hear them very well.
