I use a product called Simply Green. I get it is a spray bottle and after
wetting down the car I spray Simply Green on the nose and on the backs of
the mirrors. I proceed to wash the rest of the car and by then most of the
bug guts will scrub of using a sponge and some elbow grease. If the bugs
are still hard to remove, I will spray it again. About twice a year I use
a product from The Wax Shop called Safe Cut. Along with removing swirls,
it also removes stubborn bug parts. Our Miata is black and I haven't seen
any damage to the paint from using Simply Green. If your Miata otherwise
colored, you might want to do a test in an obscure location on the car
first. YMMV.
