Regarding a recent thread about cleaning misc. engine parts and how tough it
is. I know of an excellent degreaser but one that should be used with
caution. I have used spray brake cleaner to clean my engine, tranny, diff,
oil spills on the driveway...you name it. It work GREAT...the grease and
oil go flying off the parts...just be EXTRA sure you hose off the area
ENTIRELY and very CAREFULLY as brake cleaner is flammable. BUT, if used
carefully nothing I have found gets oil, crud, and other unmentionables off
metal better. I got this tip from a local classic car guru as well as my
buddy who works in a garage...the both use the brake cleaner sparingly to
get hard to reach or hard to clean grime off stuff. Anyone else use this?
My engine has never looked cleaner.
