That Silver '99 with the two wide blue stripes was definitelly the most
beautiful striped car I've ever seen!!! Hank is that Belle by any chance?

I didn't get to meet Gary Fischman, and I had promised him to let him joust
the dragon with SnowWhite.

The Gap is fantastic... possibly the only road I've ever driven capable of
making THE DRIVER dizzy.

The Slut looks great in Orange.

Bears attend Deal's Gap too

Joe Portas had to wait 'till he was some 10 miles away from the Gap before
he was able to award his prize to the first Miataphile who waved at him

North Carolina police can be nice folks, the one who stopped me seemed much
more concerned with our safety than with generating revenue! Thanks for the
Warning!!!

The Crossroads of time is a pretty cool place to stay when @ the Gap, and
you get all the unexpected sideshows with the bikers.

Did I mention that silver '99 with the wide blue stripes?

Fontana Village is absolutely fantastic!

Driving in a caravan to the gap or anywhere else is half the fun!

Marcos and Moses are brave men... no AC and a Rollbar to function as a
heating element on their way up to the Gap in Florida Sun!

The Snake is the way to go when heading for the Gap!

Due to Toilet-Flapper malfunction we woke up at 4.00 am to an inch and a
half of water throughout the hotel room.... and yeah capillarity made sure
EVERYTHING in the suitcases was drenched.

I didn't get to meet Sue and Panther!

Berck did eventually decide to make the trip, got to COT at 6:00 AM. He
broke a belt but that was fixed then in the evening after a few beers,
torqueing bolts became a very funny subject

Kevin Morrison's Lodge was the official party house... I heard others who
were staying in huts next to it saying "no point going back... we're next to
the party house" ... Go Kevin and Sue! Would have loved to stay for a few
drinks but the other in the group felt safer drinking at our place and not
having to drive after that... hard to argue the logic :-)

Eric and Lorna's bed had a Mirror over it... I wonder what *that* is for
:-P

EVERYONE took pictures of Shane and Long's car

Michelle Popovic looks nothing like what I thought she looked like... she
was on my list of people to meet and I must have ran into her 30-40 times
before she actually figured out who I was... I was looking for somebody
totally different... I wonder who *that* was? :-)

Bob Hotaling looks nothing like someone who just recently had some major
surgery... I even forgot to ask him how he was doing!!!

If I ever bought a second miata it would be silver and have fat blue
stripes....

Steve Swiger NEEDS a new CB, the Tampa group is a bunch of great folks!
Caravaning with you was tons of fun!!!!

I didn't get a chance to see Hank again... but if I'm right I saw his car
:-)

When you get back to Florida after a weekend in North Carolina you wonder
what in the world ever compelled you to move to Florida anyway...

The Dragons' Den is a great place to get some excellent Trout, or Steak!

Jousting with the Dragon is way more fun with a another Miata... 2 is the
perfect number of cars to really go at it!

All the Miatas at the gap honk their horns and wave at you as you drive
by... what a spectacle!

Tapoco Lodge is second only to Venice (Italy) for outrageous prices... one
bb-q sandwich plus half a corn thing and (cole slaw?) $12 something....
Very nice of them, however, to organize both the sack lunches and the Sat
night dinner. While price was kinda high the problem was LACK-O-FOOD... I
knew of the price but was expecting a barbecue... you know where if you feel
like having that 5th hamburger with cheese you ask the burger-flipper to put
a slice on your patty. Dragon's Den came to the rescue with an awesome
Steak and a great salad for $11 !!!

If I go to the Gap one more time I probably won't be able to move back to
Fla :-)
