Just use one of the legs.  Give it a couple of twists and thread it around
the pulleys.  Alternator and water pump turn relatively freely but concern
is the speed they are turning.  Knot it as tight as you can and trim off
the excess ends that may flap around.  Surgical tubing, sash cord, or a
piece of clothes line would probably work in a "Limp Mode" to get home.  If
I had nothing available would have used my shoe laces or cut strip from T
shirt.
