All,

At first a confession: After Axel & Steffi, Gary & Michele, Rolf, Petra and I had
lined up all Miatas for a group shot for which the badge was placed on the hood
of one Miata, we managed to loose the badge on the first Kilometer because we
forgot to put it back on the door before we left.
DOOOOH
This happened on Sunday, and we had to leave for the Rhine valley and the
Alsace without the badge :-(((((
On Monday while we had lunch outdoors of a small little Restaurant in Andlau
(Alsace) after some wine tasting, Axel sent an e-mail to Joe Portas with his
Palm Pilot and cellphone modem.
Today I received the new badge from Joe!!!

Three Cheers to the Knobmeister!!!!!!!!!!!!

So the badge will travel with me today from Marburg
http://www.marburg.de/oben.asp
to Spa Francorchamps (last weekend´s F1 GP location), where the Alpine
Challenge
http://leden.tref.nl/~kitmich/Default.htm
will start tomorrow.
On Saturday evening, the book which has travelled parts of France, southern
Germany and Switzerland with Gary Fischman in the last week will be united
with the new badge when Gary and Michele and Gialla (our Canadian yellow
92) will meet the other "Challengers" for dinner and the night in northwestern
France.
Both the book and the badge will then be carried by about 20 Miatas taking
turns carrying the MAW stuff on small backroads (LOTS of twisties) down to the
Mediterian area (Nice, Monaco). After having done parts of the F1 course in
Spa, the badge will do most of the F1 course in Monaco. On next week´s
Friday, the badge and the book will be taken into the mountains north of
Monaco, where it will be taken over the Col de Turini and other roads of Rallye
Monte Carlo fame. After the end of the challenge, Petra and I will take the
badge and book to Italy (general area of the San Remo Rallye. From there to
the Piedmont in Italy
http://www.miata.net/gallery/images/alp961.jpg
up to the Trentino and through the Tessin into Switzerland, where Brua (Red
91A with117k miles)
http://www.miata.net/gallery/images/wcmx5_6.jpg
will carry us over the Furka Pass
http://www.udena.ch/Andreas/PCCHFurka.html
and other passes in Switzerland where we will spend the last night of our
vacation in the Hotel Furkablick (altitude 2436 meters).

Then the badge and book will be back in Marburg, where it will be passed on to
Axel and Steffi and from there to several Miata clubs in the
Köln/Düsseldorf/Dortmund area.

I´ll be offline for 17 days from now :-)

Werner
