Miata Mailing List: September 1999, Message #338

Hi all, a few newbie questions for the list.  I've gone through the FAQ at
www.miata.net, and here's what I've got left.  I have been looking to test
drive a Miata for awhile but my local dealership (Windsor, Ontario, Canada)
has not had one in for about 4 months (though I call every darn week!).
Anyways...

1.	I'm ~6 feet tall (~180cm), a minor concern of mine is that the car
will be too small for me.  Will my head be hitting the top (if it's ever
down!)?  If you're 6'+ and driving a Miata, could you please let me know to
allay my fears?  FWIW, I've driven the 99 Mustang and it had enough headroom
for me.  I may have to end up ordering the car without a test drive rather
than waiting forever for the dealer to get one in.

2.	Assuming I'll end up with a new '99 or '00, my plan is to get the
standard Miata w/optional leather package.  Are there any other options that
are a _must_ get when I buy the car?

3.	I may also look for a used Miata, and have already downloaded the
'Buying a used Miata guide' from miata.net, however, are there any model
years I should avoid? I plan on using the car for my commute every day, ~30
miles a day, and we have about 2 months of snow/slush every year.
