Hi!

I'm thinking of replacing the shocks and springs in Snowwhite (she's got =
about 30500 miles and given the way she gets tossed around her shocks =
must be prime for replacement... no they're not *in need* of =
replacement... she feels softer, bouncier than when new but still =
handles superbly.

First let me point out that I did check the archives before posting my =
question... but whenever I put 99 and shocks toghether I would come up =
with thousands of post by Michael Opalack (his sig advertises the sale =
of 99 shocks springs and other suspension stuff) totally unrelated to =
the subject.

>From my search through the vendors I have found that the only =
adjustables for M2s are Konis.

How are Konis? Anyone have any experience with their products? With a =
'99? Any idea what the warranty on them is (the vendors don't have any =
info on that).

Now my problem... Dan, from MRoad advertises the Konis as fitting only =
the Base, touring and PEP packages, not the Leather and Sport. Dan just =
passes on that information from Koni... I remember a while back there =
was a discussion about whether the leather package M2s had different =
suspension parts than the lower models... I thought our consensus was =
that the different labeling on Mazda's part (on the door label) must =
have been due to the 15" wheels as all other components appeared to be =
the same. Apparently the Bilsteins have different perches and the Konis =
won't fit without some additional tinkering (which I am both incapable =
and unwilling to do)... My shocks are definitelly not yellow... but Dan =
said that's not a clear indication that they're not Bilsteins, or =
otherwise different from Base, Touring and PEP in some other way?

Is this true? Has anyone with a leather package installed those shocks?

The other question regards springs... While the shocks are off, might =
as well change those too... I wouldn't mind a harsher ride in return for =
better smooth-road handling... I'm not crazy about significantly lowered =
miatas... but I could probably deal with about an inch or so... Any =
suggestions?

Please reply directly as I am currently unsubscribed.

Thanks!

Alessandro & SnowWhite 99L

P.S. If there are other adjustable shocks other than Konis that fit the =
'99 and are better than the Konis please let me know.
