Ouch!!!  Boy I hate when that happens.  As you pointed out, it could have 
been a moose.  If there was ever a bumper sticker that I agree with, it is 
"I brake for Moose!" (even though the Screamer would never wear a bumper 
sticker).  Glad to hear that everyone is okay and most of the damage 
appears to be repairable.
