Actually, BMW is working on this sort of thing. The harder you hit
the brakes, the more area of the brake light illuminates. I can't see
that it is going to be a big safety improvement, but if you're into
this sort of thing, it's a darn sight better than flashing CHMSL's. :)
They call it the Brake Force Display, which is a bad abbreviation
waiting to happen. ;)
