Don,

In an earlier note you also wrote

The list isn't getting increasingly redundant, it has been constantly redundant
for years - it just depends how long you have been on it. I rejoined the list
this week after a two month absence, and landed smack in the middle of the auto
vs. stick debate, home shopping chastising, BRB, and many more threads,
including the now monthly GMIR thread (and folks, it's actually Gawd's
Potato(e) that is Red). Having been on the list almost non-stop for over three
years, I reckon that I've seen the auto vs. stick debate come around at least 8
times now, home shopping chastising at least 4 times, and GMIR debates far too
numerous to mention. The BRB thread is actually good this time around (3rd or
4th time) in that there is some new information being presented.

As others have said recently, the list is a community, and by virtue of new
people joining is doomed to repeat itself on certain threads over and over.
It's been said before (actually, several times) that there are no new
questions on this list - everything has been debated at least once here. If
you find it boring, then you can find every factual question answered in the
archives many times over. Or, you can unsub for a few months, and then try
again. However, chances are that if you now find it boring, it will be boring
when you return!
