As far as getting the yellow center caps replaced under warranty, it all
depends on the dealer/service manager that you deal with. I bought a used
'99 Sport, 16K miles, still under warranty. The place I bought it from
would not replace the center caps. They said that they would do if the
paint was flaking off, but not yellowing because it was due to the owner
using harsh chemicals to clean the wheels.

I went to another dealer, and the service guy gave the same line about using
harsh wheel cleaning chemicals. I pointed out that they had some brand new
Miatas sitting on their lot which already had yellow caps. He said that
they sometimes use the wrong chemicals to clean them and cause their own
problems. He then agreed to replace mine one time under warranty.

I'm going to put a good coat of wax on the new ones and only clean them with
water and mild car wash soap (Meguiar's), and hopefully they won't turn
yellow.
