Jeff, Bill, et al,

I never understood where Mazda got the "Mariner" name for the shade 
of blue used in 90 through 93. The color was taken from the 
California license plate backgound (supposedly a corner of one was 
snipped off and sent to Mazda in Japan as a sample). I've always 
called it "California License Plate Blue" and have felt that 
"California Blue" would have been a better name than "Mariner Blue".

I have my plate on w/o any frame and from a distance you can't tell 
where the plate ends and the body begins.
