...well, he said a mouthful didn't he? Ya' gotta' luv a guy who tells it
like he seeze it! :)
Way back when, and there are many who go a lot further back than my few
years...we didn't "generally" post stuff for sale on the list. There was a
place where it could be consolidated...a shopping place...that was easy to
find, easy to navigate, and had some great deals as well as some others but
the Miata.net was "the" place for placing for sale items. Oh, someone would
post: "see my latest stuff for sale on the net" here, but only as an
attention getter for the listed items.
And although this list is not moderated and the Miata.net and its wealth of
information and postings are "free"...nothing is ever "free" for everyone.
Listing items for sale on the net includes an "on your honor" agreement to
pay the list owner a VERY small percentage for offering the listing. This
MEAGER amount helps to off-set the hundreds of hours it takes to keep the net
up to date. It's not much, but it's something...Ebay charges to list AND to
sell your item there. If you list your item on the net it's free. You are
asked to contibute only if it sells. And according to a good source, many
skip on that. :(
Should this net become a Home Shopping Network? I'd vote for this
particular issue remaining unchanged.
