Al, check out these write-ups on Miata.Net:
http://www.miata.net/garage/trunkrel.html and
http://www.miata.net/garage/doorlock_99.html These are
written for the '99 but the principles are the same.

The green and blue wires that would normally go to the door
solenoid are just left unconnected. Tape up the ends so
that they do not short anything. You really only need to
connect the red, black, and purple/white wires from the
controller. Everything else can be left unconnected.

Hope this helps.

Subject: remote keyless trunk

Has anyone installed an autolock keyless remote trunk kit. I
have the
electric part working fine but am not sure of the remote
electrical
hookup. I would like to talk to someone that has installed
this unit
before I hook 12v to it.<grin> My main problem is that since
I am not
using keyless doorlocks, what do I do with the green wire
coming from
the module. I know I use the purple/white wire to go to the
relay. Any
help would be appreciated.
