As a matter of fact,
Yes.
The Diamond Star Motor corporation (DSM) is based out of Cleveland Ohio and
produces the Mitsubishi Eclipse and the (Chrysler) Plymouth Laser. I think
they also did the earlier Conquest / Laser too...
What really surprised me is what Ford owns. Not only Ford/ Lincoln/ Mercury,
Lotus and Mazda, they also own Aston Martin and some esle I cant quite
remember at this point (I want to say Audi, but thats wrong...)

Just curious....does Chrylser/Plymouth still own a piece of Mitsubishi?
Years ago you could get a Plymouth Conquest or a Mitsubishi Starion and they
were essentially the same car...just different manufacturer labels. When
the alternator went in my Conquest we replaced it with a Mitsubishi
part...exact same part...just more readily available. The US label got that
"piece of foriegn crap" by my Dad and got me the car I wanted....fond
memories of devious defiance. ;)
