I'm considering adding adjustable cam gears on my 99 Miata. I have a concern
though. I understand I cant advance timing like all others because timing is
computer controlled and even if I could advance it throught CAS the ECU would
automatically bump it back to stock. Is this the case with Cam gears as well?
As far as the valve cover, I see a lot of pre 99 Miatas (M1) with 2 peice
valve covers. Where the section above the cam gears is removable, yet my
valve cover is all one peice...Can I replace my 99 Valve cover with a -97
valve cover?
On cam gear adjusting, most cam gears use 3 bolts isnt the bottom bolt always
going to be hidden by the lower section of the valve cover, or upper section
of the timing belt cover? How do you get around this?
I looked in the archives for the answer to my questions, but I have had no
luck...
TIA
