| Subject: | Update on My Miata repairs <--Miata Content! :D |
| Date: | Mon, 8 Nov 1999 02:21:08 -0500 |
For any one who has followed what has gone on with my car Snagglepuss.
Things have taken an unusual twist. The guy who hit me is not insured
and in fact registered his car illegaly, add to that it wasn't even
his car but a brother-in-law. Both have disconnected their phones and
taken off, so beware if you get into an accident make certain a cop
takes down all the pertinent info.
Anyway my insurance comapy has already mailed me a check but it will
not cover repairs where I want them done so I will have to pay out
of my own pocket! Apparantly labor costs more in New Hampshire by
$6 per hour and they will not cover it, no changing this in anyway.
Plus a rental car is covered up to $15 a day, this is insanity, but
if you live in Massachusetts it's what you have to deal with.
Oh the Ins. Co. is called Arbella I am switching from them next year.
The dealer still has to remove the bumper skirt and negotiate any
further repairs. But the Ins. Co. will only cover a portion of the labor.
FWIW the companies that the insurance company reccomended are terrible
and I wouldn't trust them to change my oil!
The Moral is before you get hit make certain of what really is covered
on your Insurance and afterwards get a cop at the scene.
