>>Why would God want to drive having Ayrton Senna available?
Okay, old joke that may be fresh to some of you....
Club-level racer dies and goes to heaven, and is granted a wish for having
lived a good life. She says she's always wanted to race open-wheel cars,
and she'd love to race against some of history's greats and be able to give
them a run for their money. So, Saint Peter arranges for several idential
Formula Vee cars and a good roadrace course, and she takes the green flag in
a field that includes Ayrton Senna, Jim Clark, Fangio, Gilles Villeneuve,
Bruce McLaren, and other legends from stock car, Formula 1, dirt track, Indy
car, and sports car racing.
It's a grueling race, and of course she must fight for every position, since
these are drivers of world-class talent. She finds herself taking the white
flag in second place; she just CANNOT get past the orange #14 car. She
crosses the start-finish line ALMOST, but not quite, even with #14, and on
the cool-down lap she can see the driver's helmet says "A.J."
In pit lane, she takes of her helmet and raves to St. Peter, "Wow, I've
NEVER driven that well before! I passed Villeneuve under braking! I got a
better line than Senna through the hairpin and passed him. I PASSED AYRTON
SENNA!! I couldn't believe it! But I couldn't beat number 14. And the
helmet said 'A.J.' Was that really A.J. Foyt? I thought he was still
alive."
St. Peter replies, "Oh, A.J. still has a few years left on Earth. That was
God - he just likes to PRETEND he's A.J. Foyt."
