Hi Patrick,

I have power windows in my '91. You may have a different handle and no
armrest if yours is a later model year. The following is from the Haynes
Miata Repair Manual.

"1) Pry the trim cap from the upper armrest screw, then remove the screws and
armrest.
2) Remove the screw from the inside door handle cover.
3) Lift up the inside door handle and remove the trim cover.
4) Insert a putty knife or thin screwdriver between the door trim panel and
door to disengage the door trim retaining clips. Work around the outer edge
until the panel is loose.
5) Make sure all the door trim retaining clips are disengaged. Remove the
door trim panel from the vehicle by gently pulling it upwards and out, while
disconnecting any electrical connectors." Mine had none.
6) The speaker cover can be removed in the same way, by disengaging it's
retaining clips.

Put it back together in just the opposite way...drop it into place, press in
the clips until you hear them click, and re-attach the handle cover and
armrest.

I hope this helps. It really is simple.

I removed my panels to install my own armrest/handles to fit my tastes. You
