You can put the top down when it is below 40F if you use the car heater
to warm the top up above 40F.  The problem then becomes getting the top
back up.  You either need a heated garage, or you have to wait for the
next day when the outside temp is above 40F.

The vinyl top material WILL crack if it is stresses when cold.  I would
not think the aftermarket glass window canvas tops would have this
problem.
