I've had my Miata for about four months now, and I enjoy it a lot, but I
havn't been able to push it anywhere near its limits yet.  Is there
anywhere (within reasonable distance of the Hudson River) where I can take
the car to safely play with it?  I'd like to be able to run it at full
throttle for a little while, and take some turns without risk of falling
off a cliff or running into a house if I overestimate what the car can do.

I really don't know what this little car is actually capable of, and I'd
like to try driving fast without impacting my wallet.  A ticket, in my
current financial situation, would probably mean I'd be eating ramen
noodles and hot dogs for the next two years.
