Patrick, I remember that thread and it had more to do with the safety of clear
taillights versus red ones. I've been attacked, flamed etc... too, but that's
life online. You want to see some battles get on the auto-x mailing list.

I believe that many people don't care for clear taillights for safety reasons.
I've seen Civics with them and after being hit many times in the rear I want
a Giant billboard in Huge non-blinking Bright Orange and Red Letters,
Screaming... STOP! DO NOT HIT ME!

But you do have the right to alter your car in any legal way that you see fit.
