Hey, I like your response up to the garage mistress part! I keep my baby in
the garage (not heated, but attached to the house so it's not freezing in
there when it is freezing outside), and some us buy a Miata because we can.
My neighbors think I'm nuts of course because I own a car that is only driven
when it is nice outside. Well, its a roadster, putting top up sucks, and
some times it is just too damn cold to do anything outside. Usually, if I
take the dog out and she first whines then growls to go back into the warmth,
I figure I shouldn't treat my baby any differently than my dog. If she gets
pissed at being out in the cold, she expresses herself. I for one don't want
to find out how my baby will express herself if she doesn't like the cold.
Besides, my Avalon seems to appreciate being let loose on cold days, and she
doesn't complain a bit (or hasn't for the last 75,000 miles). As I said to
my neighbor when he said, "I can't believe you'd spend that much money on a
car you won't drive unless the sun is shining (him I can forgive, he's just
ignorant)", "Shut up, kid, I can't believe you spent all that money on that
huge home entertainment system that you only use during those four hours at
night when I'm trying to sleep (and which by the way will not take that 15
mph corner at the end of the road at 65 mph!!)."
Happy New Year!
