Cal,

Other than the deck height difference of the 400 or M series, I was
actually looking forward to see how well you did with the project. Now
being a Mustang 351C fan myself, I feel it's a bit odd to stuff a 400 into
a Pantera as well, but I would certainly not harbor any feelings against
you for the idea. If I was in your area, I would gladly assist you. I
shoehorned in an AMC 327 where an AMC 360 used to be in my Jeep Wagoneer.
This was done more out of necessity, as I didn't actualy have any
drivetrain for the vehicle to start with.

The point I make is just because the 400 and M are a bit larger, doesn't
really mean they are of a different family. I can't understand the
ignorance on the part of the other people. You know, I'd almost be willing
to be if you but a cleveland in one room and a 400 or M in another, and
asked them to identify each on separately, they'd have a bit of a hard time
for the first few seconds. I know it took me a while before I could zero
in on the subtle differences.

Well I guess that's just it, they are ignorant, and really aren't that much
for being friends. MY friend and I put a Chevy 350 into his Jeep Wagoneer,
and he helped me put my 327 in mine. Of course, he keeps his 67 Camaro
SS/RS stock as a rock, and pretty much same with my Mach I, but that's
different.

You should tell these guys there are plenty of different engine combo's in
Panteras. The new Ford Quad cammers, 351C's, some with 460's, even ones
with Mopar engines

Ack, I've run out of things to say about this, I'll step off my soap box now.

Don't let them get you down.
Asa Jay
PS, what are we supposed to use when the 351C blocks dry up anyway??

leaking you don't need to mess with them. If they are in good shape now
they'll most probably stay that way if they're left alone.

Meanwhile, happy driving :)
