A few weeks ago, there was a brief discussion of the fact that some M2
stereos have a Fader control in their menu while others do not.  This
prompted postulation on whether there was provision for rear speakers
in the M2.

Well, I've just received a breakdown of the wiring connectors for the
factory stereo, and it seems that it does indeed provide for rear
speakers!  It lists a rear speaker connector, and mentions that the
unit is configured for 2- or 4-channel operation via a switch on the
internal circuit board.

Also of interest for me at least, was that there is also provision for
a phone mute input, such that the stereo is muted when using a
handsfree car phone.
