Sorry Dennis and All Who Wanted to Know,
Somehow I missed this message.
My car is a '92 US model and the wiring diagram that Brandon supplied with
the kit was spot on.
Hmmmm. Rating of the switch; I don't know, I just assume that Brandon and
Keith know what they are doing and used hardware that was up to the task.
Everything seems very meaty.
I hated using my lighter socket to power external devices like a radar
detector or cell phone because of it's proximity to the steering wheel.
Before I got the BRB kit, I had already put a power port next to the glove
box, just below the map light. Instead of using the lighter circuit, which
is switched, I tapped into the map light which is constantly on. This way
I could leave my phone in the car to charge if I needed to. A 15 minute
mod for less than 10 bucks, and drilling into the plastic to install the
power port is a whole lot less scary than the idea of drilling a hole in
the oil pan for a turbo oil return line.
