When I lived in Chicago (brrr) neither car would start, so I and a guy came
out with jumper cables that ran from his truck to the house (longest cables
I'd ever seen).  He hooked 'em up and when I turned on the ignition key,
the battery let go and blew the side out.  He said it had been frozen.
Never had it happen before or since (thank God).
