How about this one...
Timing equipment guarded by cones, I'm flagging. Flagger at this track was
at finish line, right by timing lights, at the middle of a short straight.
A little formula car going for the best time of the day, comes around the
last turn, the rear end twitches enough so that the front of the car is
facing me, then the rear tires grab... I dove out of the way, he ran
straight through the timing equipment, which left the car ok, but me with
some scratches as the timing equipment got launched into my right leg, as my
left leg I swear was over the front of the car! Driver spun it after that
and was staring right at me, me on the ground, him facing the wrong way on
the track. Just lifts his shoulders in an "oops." sort of shrug (opaque
visor) and we patch the stuff up (including me) and continue the last
session of the day. Suffice it to say I let another "volunteer" finish the
session as flagger.

I've seen worse. At a local autocross a few years back things were pretty
windy and the timing reflector kept blowing over, so someone decided to put
something heavy on it to keep it there.... A toolbox full of tools. Sure
enough a prepared Vette hit it at about 60 and it looked like a bomb went
off. There were sockets and allen wrenches and screws and stuff everywhere.
The owner of the Corvette brought back about two pounds of stuff that got
caught inside the bodywork and engine bay.
Lucky nothing hit anybody...
