Subject:suspicion leading to paranoia? (NMC) was geek hunting...

Heehee, Bill, I;m not really that bitter a person or that cynical, I still
believe that: true love does really exist, there really is a nice man out there
for me, and good friends and family are there to stay. i'm just saving up all my
hopeless idealism for when i find the right guy to spend it on ;)

Having gone through what i (and every other girl) have in college (sure, it's ok
for you older guys to say that there are nice boys out there, but that's only
after you've had the opportunity to grow up a lot and see the err of
your/society's ways, whereas these kids can't even spell mature), it's enough to
make any girl wary of a guy's intentions and whatever evil tricks he has up his
sleeve. I started school ridiculously naive, but having met different kinds of
people (that's the euphimism for *sshole), it's been a learning experience....But
i believe in the goodness of people, and all that other sappy-happy stuff, and
all the cracks that i make are in jest; it's funny to think that i've met the
most detestable specimens of the male gender, yet still know that i will find
that nice boy in the future (or now!).... i give everyone the benefit of the
doubt when i meet them, and if i get a bad first impression, then i'm on my
guard, and i'll be wary just like anyone else would...we meet different people
every day, but you can't assume that every person you come across is goign to be
nice...

my influence has no bearing on the hostility that my sister exhibits, which comes
from being the only kid at home wiht my parents, who are already suffering from
empty nest syndrome, and, like every teenager, feels like no one understands her
or has suffered the anguish that she has in growing up. i've gone through it,
all my friends have gone through it, and my coworkers' children are going through
it now, and it's all natural.

As far as boston people go, i love it here....alot of the attitudes depend on
where you hang out. yeah, if you hang out at the rich people bars and joints,
you'll come across alot of snooty people....certain areas are not the best place
to go to find friendly people...but if you know where to go, you'll find friendly
people and fun places to go...
