Hi all--
I'm about to do the 30,000 mile service, and I'm thinking
about advancing the timing to 14 degrees. From reading the
list and the Garage section at Miata.net, it sounds like
free, low-end power. What's the catch? Everything
involves a trade-offf, so why does Mazda set the timing at
10 degrees if the engine is (a little bit) more powerful at
14 degrees? In other words, I understand why I might want
to advance the timing; why would I not want to advance it?
