I'm sure you'll get lots of answers.  My personal preference using Mobil 1 
Synthetic is to change around the 4500 mile mark.  However, it isn't as 
hazardous to exceed that in "normal" driving. If you drive spiritedly often 
(e.g, auto-x frequently) you may want to stay in the 3-4k range.

As a side note, since you will have some dino residuals, you may want to 
continue the 3K changes for the first couple of times with the 
synthetic.  Not a necessity, just a belt and suspenders type of suggestion.
