They are the ANSI characters.  You can always tell ANSI from ASCII by the 
way they are generated: ANSI = ALT+0nnn; ASCII = ALT+nnn (no leading zero).

For example, to get the "cents" sign, it would be:
ASCII = ALT+155 = ¢
ANSI = ALT+0162 = ¢

But remember that the display (or presentation) of the character is 
dependent on the font being used.
