Here is another description of NASI/ASCII characters:

http://www.zdnet.com/zdhelp/stories/main/0,5594,906238,00.html

In most MS Office products you can insert the following accents:

accent acute (')
accent grave (`)
tilde (~)
caret (^)
colon (:)

Above the following characters very easily:

A, a, E, e, I, i, O, o, U, u, Y, y

To accent any of the above letters with the above accents, hold down the
control key and type the accent character (nothing will appear on the
screen), release the accent and ctrl key then type the letter. The accented
character will now appear.

Hope that helps the WinTel people.
