Marty, A more aesthetic approach is this: On the original visor (this only applies to PRE-'94 Miatas) find the plastic pins that form the hinge for the two pieces. Using a pair of pliers, gently pull the pins out of the holes in the sides of the visor pieces. The lower folding portion of the visor is then removed, leaving you with a single flap that folds up out of the way and gives you the same vertical visibility as NO visor. The advantage is, of course, no ugly holes and and you retain the functionality of at least having SOME visor when you might need it.
