Every once in a while someone on the list asks a dumb question. Here's mine.

I will soon be replacing the shocks, which means I will have to put the car
up on jack stands. From the collected wisdom of the group I gather  there
are four  specific locations where the car should rest on the stands. These
locations, as far as I can tell, are the same as those used for raising the
car using the scissor jack that comes with the Miata.

So my question is: How do you put the jack stand at the correct location if
that location is occupied by the scissor jack?

For life of me I can't figure this one out.
